Akhnoor, Nov 18 : Former Member of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma today criticized Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has not serious on refugee issues, while addressing a series of public meetings at Malley, Jadh Sardara, Peeri and Tarai in Akhnoor. According to press release, Sharma said that BJP government at Central level is not serious on resolving the long pending issues of refugees. Returning the State Government's proposal they have made their intention clear. While supporting the citizen ship status to West Pak Refugees Sharma said that the State Coalition partner was not in favour of that and said that if Congress led Government is formed in Jammu and Kashmir they will grant State Subjects to West Pak Refugees.
Criticizing the Centre's decision of returning package for other categories of Refugees and other displaced persons he said that grant of Citizenship to West Pak Refugees is not the pretext of denying package to other categories of Refugees He demanded early roll back of Centre's decision and demanded a full fledged package for Refugees.
He further said that during his tenure as works Minister of the State he has ensured equal allocation of funds to Jammu and Kashmir region for the first time similarly Sham Lal Sharma PHE Minister has taken Akhnoor towards a model and best constituency of the State and before me and Sham Lal Sharma nothing was done in Akhnoor. He appealed the people to vote Sham Lal Sharma and send him in the State Cabinet to complete the pending works.
