Jammu, Feb 16: Zorawar Club Satwari today qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing Senior Men’s District Hockey Championship, organised by the Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at K K Hakhu Stadium, here. In the quarterfinals, played this afternoon, Zorawar Club trounced Deshmesh Club Nanak Nagar 3-2 to join those semifinalist teams. Vinod Kumar led the Zorawar Club to win striking twice in the 18th and 39th minute. The other goal came through Anoop Singh in the 36th minute of the match. From Deshmesh Club, Agamdeep Singh and Sarabjeet Singh were the scorers, who sounded the board in the second and 47th minute of the match. The second scheduled quarterfinal of the day could not be played due to rains. With the result, the game between Ajit Club and Young Star Simbal Camp has been postponed for February 18 at 2.30 pm. Today’s quarterfinal officiated by the technical penal including Karanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Jagjit Singh, MS Reen and GS Bakshi. |
