Denied entry to watch India-Pakistan Cricket match, crazy fans vandalize PHC building | Police register FIR | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Feb 16:- The crazy cricket fans on Sunday vandalized the Primary Health Center (PHC) Building at Bharath falling under the medical block of Ghat in Doda District after in charge PHC Dr. Syed Shahid Bashir denied them access to watch India-Pakistan Cricket match. As per the details available with Early Times, the Cricket crazy fans tried to intrude into the PHC forcibly as the power went off in the area during India-Pakistan match at the ongoing Cricket world cup. A TV set on solar light Invertor was installed in the building complex having residential accommodation for the doctor as well. The incident was later brought to the notice of authorities. As per the letter No. PHC/B/71 dated 15-2-2015 written by in charge PHC Bharath to Block Medical Officer Ghat, three youths identified as Irshad Ahmed son of Mohammad Amin Malik, Waseem Akram son of Mohammad Akram and Ghulam Qadir son of Bashir Ahmed Lavi all resident of Bharath tried to intrude inside the hospital premises and after denied the same, they pelted stones on the building causing extensive damage. Dr. Syed Shahid Bashir in his complaint further said that among the three accused, Irshad Malik threatened him of dire consequences and even dared him to go to police. He demanded stern action against the guilty involved in threatening them and vandalizing of government property. The complaint was later forwarded the complaint to SSP Doda for necessary action. When contacted, CMO Doda Dr. Yaqoob while confirming the incident said that the matter is being looked into, and added that complaint stands forwarded to SSP Doda for action under law. SSP Doda Zahid Manhas said that FIR has been registered against the guilty persons involved in the incident and investigation has been initiated. Meanwhile the in charge PHE Ghat along with Lab Assistant reportedly did not attend the duty today and PHE Bharath was found locked. Sources said that various medical organizations have threatened to go on strike in case police and administration failed to arrest the accused involved behind vandalizing of hospital building and threatening the medical staff.
