Jammu, Feb 16: Jammu and Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized Bhajan Sandhya at K L Saigal Hall, Jammu. Saujanaya Sharma, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Haroon Rashid, Secretary and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary also shared the presidium. Speaking on the occasion, Saujanaya Sharma praised the efforts being made by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in connection with celebrating the festivals that convey a message of harmony, brotherhood and unity to the society. He complimented the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for celebrating the most pious festival of Mahashivratri by organizing this beautiful programme of Bhajan Sandhya in which the singers spell bound the audience by singing Shiv Bhajans. Earlier, delivering his welcome address, Haroon Rashid, Secretary Academy highlighted the Academy's activities to be undertaken in near future. He wished Mahashivratri to all the august gathering and the participating artists and musicians. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy presented Vote of thanks and the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Anil Tickoo,Assistant Cultural Officer. The singers who presented Bhajans in the programme include, Ravi Raghuvanshi, SC Gupta, Indu Bala, Mamta Raina, Rita Rani, Mahinder Soni, Neelam Langeh and Viva Bharti. The musicians were- Kamal Sharma (Tabla), Rakesh Kona (Dholak), Rohit Kumar (Actopad), Chandan Kumar (Synth), Sunil Sharma (Flute), Vikas Nagar (Guitar) and Bawa Ditta (Voilon). The programme was conducted by Ravi Sharma, renowned music composer and prominent Santoor maestro. Among others were present on the occasion included Shiv Dutt, Joginder Singh Shaan, Krishan Lal Mast, Padam Dev Singh, Kewal Kumar Kewal, Brijmohan, Rattan Singh Kanwal, prominent citizens, writers and artists. |
