Jammu, Feb 16: The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal conducted a drive from Durga Nagar, Roop Nagar, Muthi, Shakti Nagar, Subash Nagar, Rehari, Rajinder Nagar, Swaran Vihar, Police Colony, Bakshi Nagar area. While checking meat shops, 37 KG of substandard/unstamped meat has been discarded on spot and about 12 KG of polythene carry bags were lifted and fine to the tune of Rs. 4300/- has been realized from the defaulters. As per the release issued by the JMC, such drives will continue in near future against all the food establishments/shopkeepers running in the market and involved in supplying of substandard items. JMC Commissioner has strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality food items to the citizens of Jammu City. Jammu Municipal Corporation has appealed to all the shopkeepers/vendors especially those dealing with meat/milk products to maintain hygienic environment and make available quality products to the consumers. |
