Efforts on to eliminate left out militants in Kishtwar: DIG DKR

Kishtwar, Feb 16: Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range Nisar Hussain today on the sidelines of public meeting at Kishtwar said that efforts are on to eliminate the left out Hizb militants active in the District. While talking to media persons, DIG DKR said that security agencies including Army and J&K Police took major initiatives in last three years to eliminate the militants in Kishtwar district, and added that efforts will continue till the desirable results were achieved. Earlier, DIG held an interactive PCPG meeting at TRC Kishtwar in which about 70-80 prominent citizens belonging to various political, religious, social organizations, NGOs, trade union bodies and transport unions attended the meeting. Senior Police officers including SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas, Abdul Qayoom Addl.SP Kishtwar, Basharat Hussain, Dy.SP Operation Kishtwar, Nazir Ahmed Ganie-Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar and other District Police Officers were also present in the meeting. Many participants also spoke on the occasion and put forth various issues including 2013 Kishtwar communal riots and growing drug menace. DIG stressed upon maintain peace, secularism and communal harmony and appealed the participants to disseminate the message of peace in every nook and corner of the District Kishtwar. He also requested for close coordination with Police and to provide specific information regarding activities of any anti-social element/trouble shooter or any criminal, so that they could be dealt sternly under law. He further requested the participants to help to maintain law & order/communal harmony/peace/brotherhood in every sphere. He stressed upon the people to come forward and share their demands/grievances with Police at any time. Manmohan Gupta, Raiz Ahmed Zarger, Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Parayae Lal Shan, Hukum Chand and others spoke among the participants. Meanwhile the relatives of those killed in August 9, 2013 Kishtwar communal violence demanded arrest of all those culprits involved in gruesome murder of three innocent people and alleged that many culprits involved in communal violence were roaming free despite warrants issued against them.
