Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 28: Great enthusiasm and fervor marked the valedictory ceremony of the Two-day annual cultural event 'Udaan' that began yesterday at Central University of Jammu. The two days witnessed over 18 different events that included Rangoli, Light Vocal Solo, Mimicry, On the spot Painting, Poetry recitation, Photography, Folk Group Song, Folk dance, Collage and Fancy Dress. The festival provided a platform for the students to showcase their talents in all of these events. Speaking on the valedictory ceremony, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu Prof Ashok Aima congratulated the students to have actively participated in the events during the two days. Congratulating the winners of the various events, Prof. Aima stressed upon the fact that at winning is important but mere participation in extra- curricular activities also makes the students adept to polish the overall personality and excel in life circumstances. He further informed that CU Jammu will shortly have students from other Universities abroad as a part of the student exchange program. Earlier, Head Department of Economics Prof R L Bhatt, welcomed the gathering and congratulated the students for coming forth fervently for this two day event "Udaan". He briefed the gathering about the various events and also encouraged the participants. Dr Shweta Yadav, from Department of Environmental Sciences, announced the winners of the various events amongst cheers and roars of joy. Later, the Dean students' welfare, Dr Pavinder Singh expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, for his patronage and support for facilitating the cultural festival. |
