Yr on, no remuneration to evaluators of Class 8 exams 1/29/2016 11:25:14 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 29: After lapse of nearly one year since evaluation of answer scripts was done by more than thirty evaluators in the Lakhanpur zone of district Kathua, remuneration has still not been paid to them, due to reasons best known to authorities concerned. The evaluators informed Early Times that they had evaluated the answer scripts of students of 8thclass in the evaluation centres established in Government High School Lakhanpur but so far the evaluation fee was not paid to them. Sources informed that answer scripts of students from nearly 30 schools including Private as well as Government schools, were evaluated in the evaluation centre established in Government High School Lakhanpur. "Nearly thirty evaluators were engaged to evaluate the answer scripts of nearly six hundred students. There were nearly 3000 answer scripts evaluated by the teachers of government schools and Rs. 2 as evaluation remuneration is paid to the evaluator", sources said. They further say DIET Basohli had given the money for evaluation of answer scripts and a cheque in favour of Principal of GHS Lakhanpur was issued. The evaluators further said that it was still unknown where the money has gone. "I personally know nearly a dozen evaluators, who were not paid the evaluation money. Though it is a very small amount in few hundred rupees but if the government has paid the money, why it go into the pocket of Principal and not the evaluators", one of the evaluator, pleading anonymity said. The evaluator further said that as the money was disbursed in favour of Principal, so he had been delaying the payment, in order to pocket the same. DIET Principal Basohli, Tarseem Lal said that they had paid the evaluation money to the GHS Principal in advance that was prior to March 2015 and it was the responsibility of Principal HS Lakhanpur to make the payments. Principal of GHS Lakhanpur, Angrez Singh though contested the claims of DIET Basohli and said that he had received the money in March 2015, after the complete evaluation of answer scripts. On being asked why money was not paid to the evaluators, he said that few of evaluators had not turned up for taking payments otherwise majority have got the same. On being asked, when the payments were made in September when the money was paid to them in March, he said that they had telephonically informed the evaluators to take the money but they turned up late but contrary to his claims, the evaluators said that they had not got any intimation from the Principal office to get the payment.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
