Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 29 : Cantonment Board Jammu today conducted a cleanliness drive in Ward No-5, Raipur Satwari, and Jammu Cantt as part of its 10th day of weeklong cleanliness drive. The drive has been launched on the directions of Deepak Mohan, CEO Cantonment Board Office Jammiu Cantt and was led by Sardar Jatinder Singh Lucky (Vice President), Yashbir Singh (Sr sanitary Inspector), Mayank Bharti (Sanitary Inspector) and other field staff of Cantonment Board. The basic objective of the drive is to ensure cleanliness of roads, lanes, bye lanes by sweeping and de-silting in every nook and corner. During this drive large number of residents and volunteers of area participated.To make this campaign effective at ground level and to enlist the public cooperation for making the area clean, the people of various walks of society living there were invited to participate in the drive & many people participated with great enthusiasm. Prominent citizens present were Romesh Singh Chib, Raj Kumar Sharma. Manminder Pal Singh, Tajinder Singh, Lohri Singh and public in general alongwith political representatives. During campaign Deepak Mohan (CEO) Cantonment Board Jammu made a fervent appeal to resident/market association of the area to come forward and help keep the area neat and clean appealing them to avoid use of polythene which is the main cause of choking of drains/nallahs. The appeal made by Cantonment Board Jammu has shown very positive effects on the people and they assured to cooperate with Sanitation staff in keeping the area neat and clean. |
