Early Times Report Kathua, Jan 30: Paying tribute to 'Father of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi on his 68th death anniversary, District Congress Committee (DCC) on Saturday paid homage to Father of Nation by organized a function at Hiranagar. According to press release, former MLC Subash Chander Gupta, President District Congress Committee Kathua, presided over the function whereas hundreds of congress activists present on the occasion to pay floral tributes to the great leader of the nation. Subash said that Mahatma Gandhi as real saint who earned name in the entire world by showing his tolerance against violence. Throwing light on the philosophy and life of Mahatma Gandhi, he said that his life is full of devotion, dedication and truthfulness. Mahatma told the world the lesson of truth and non-violence. Gandhi ji worked not only for India however for the world community at large. His ideas are very much relevant even today and world needs to adopt these ideas. Subash Gupta remembering the great contribution of Gandhi ji in the freedom struggle of India said, "Gandhi showed the world that truth and non-violence can win any war without any bloodshed and we can achieve any cause with these unique weapons".
