Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Jan 29: Kishtwar police has found the dead body of missing BJP leader Jagdeep Singh Parihar. Parihar had gone missing after he left his house on November 2, 2015, to attend a BJP rally at Chaderkot, Ramban. The deceased played a key role in anti-militancy operations in early '90s. It was due to efforts of people like him that mass migration of the minority community was prevented in Chenab belt during the peak of militancy. Parihar's body was found floating in river Chenab near Hasti on Friday evening. While talking to Early Times, senior police officers said that after shifting the body to district hospital Kishtwar, the brother of the deceased who had lodged the missing complaint with police identified the dead body as that of his missing brother. SSP Kishtwar had already constituted a SIT to probe the disappearance of the deceased BJP leader and after recovery of the dead body, police has started inquest proceedings under section 174 Cr.Pc. |
