Srinagar, May 12: Describing her decision to head the coalition government with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as "emotional" to fulfill the mission of her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who wanted to see Jammu and Kashmir as prosperous and peaceful state, Mehbooba Mufti said taking over as Chief Minister has nothing to do with politics. ''Although everybody will consider it a political decision, but for me it is mission of my father which I will have to fulfill,'' she said. ''I miss my father I always find him there to correct me when I was going wrong and he was appreciating me when I do anything good,'' Mehbooba said at a dinner hosted for mediapersons at Nehru guest house, overlooking the famed Dal Lake, last night. '' Mufti Sahib was a straight forward person and he used to criticise me, scold me at times when I would commit any mistake and only after his bashing would I realise that I was mistaken," she said adding,'' But he would appreciate me when he I did something good which always made me to feel that I was on the seventh sky,'' she said. ''We have gathered again together like many times in the past but unfortunately for me, for the first time my father is not here to join us this time.''I remained was very close to my father and since 1989 had never been out of touch with him even for a brief period,'' she said adding it has been four months since he departed. She said even before the birth of People's Democratic Party (PDP), Sayeed wanted to work for the people of the state, who had suffered a lot. '' Even when he was admitted to AIIMS, New Delhi he used to ask doctors why they were wasting his time as he had to do a lot of work for his people, she recalled and said her father always wanted to know about the welfare of people.' |
