Early Times Report
jammu, May 12: While lauding the prompt action to the media reports about the 'Disgrace to Khakhi' in Khour-Akhnoor, the locals of the area have observed if the senior police officials continue to dig out the case in professional manner which they had exhibited in recent case they will certainly see more skeletons coming out of the cupboard.
Locals said that there were similar accusations leveled against another SHO who now had been transferred to other place of posting but none police official dared in the similar spirits. As the things have changed, the Khour locals see a silver line in the dark clouds and are hoping that the then SHO too should be tried against whom the allegations often are in air in recent past. They have anchored hope that senior police officials should listen to the voice of people and after weighing the gravity of allegations should order a probe in this regard
As per police sources, prior to this case, another SI who was posted in the same police station had also raped a woman who eloped with a local boy.
"The run-away couple after escaping surrendered before police and the lady was repeatedly raped by the then SHO in the custody", claimed a police source.
The then SHO had also adopted the same modus operandi and raped the eloped woman after threatening her by various means, maintained the police source.
During that time, a female Special Police Officer (SPO) played the role of facilitator same like the present case and the victim maintained silence due to social stigma.
Sources further claimed that the pace of the current case investigation is going well and if the investigators would maintain that pace with professional approach then more skeletons would tumble out from the cupboard.
