Avinash Azad Early Times Report jammu, May 12: Sub District Magistrate, North Jammu has been entrusted by Deputy Commissioner Jammu to conduct enquiry into disproportionate assets owned by a meter reader, in power development Department. According to the order issued by office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu on May 3, 2016, AvnyLavasa, SDM North Jammu, is appointed as inquiry officer and directed to furnish the inquiry report within three weeks. It has been alleged by one RashuKanna, from Jagti Township that a meter reader in PDD has disproportionate assets, as compare to his income. "Surinder Singh, Meter Reader of PDD, is allegedly, heading a gang of land encroachers and in connivance with the land mafia has sold gairmumkinkhad/jard", complaint filed by Kanna before DC Jammu read. "Whereas, Regional Director Survey and Land Records (Ex-officio Settlement officer), Jammu vide his office letter no RDSLR/J/Estt/108-110, informed DC Jammu that the meter reader, allegedly encroaching upon government's land", order number DCJ/Comp/TNJ-RTI 2016/45 read. Document further reveals that the meter readers owned denami, undisclosed property. "It has been learned from the above said letter that he has owned Benami property like JCB/Dozers /Tippers and utilizing for encroachment of government land at Thather (Karan Vihar/ Raipur area)", the document further read. Earlier, the applicant had filled application before PIO, and first appellant authority but did not received any satisfactory answer from Regional Director Survey and Land Record and Deputy Commission. However, feeling aggrieved he went to state information commissioner. "The ADDC during hearing of the case apprised the commission that an enquiry has been initiated and a senior revenue officer has been entrusted with the conduct of enquiry", the order read. "It has been decided in the meeting that the matter recommended by the regional director survey and land records vide letter dated 12/2/2014, be enquired through SDM North Jammu with a period of three weeks and action taken report be made available to the aggrieved appellant", the order divulged. |
