The officer was also alleged to have recorded girdawaries of the land in the names of the influential persons, official sources alleged.
Sources said a common piece of 5.19 kanals of land (kahcharai) under khasra No 715 at Naka Majhari for villagers to graze their cattle had allegedly been allotted to Mohammad Fazal, Mohammad Nazir and others on 'fake' girdawaries by the revenue officer.
It is pertinent to mention here that the revenue officer had been in news in recent part for his alleged involvement in corroupt practices in the department.
Locals alleged that they were harassed by revenue employees of Mendhar for 'obvious' reasons. They urged the district authorities to keep a watch on their activites in tehsil Mendhar.
