Car plunges into canal, police rescues occupants | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 12: At least three people including two women had a close shave, when a car they were traveling in skidded off and plunged into a canal near Domana area on city outskirts here. However, immediate action by the police party from Police Station Domana headed by Station House Officer launched rescue operation and rescued the occupants. "A car on way towards Jammu during midnight accidentally fell into Ranbir Canal near APS School," police spokesman here today said.He said the locals informed the SHO following which he directed the flying squad to rush to the spot. "The cops without wasting time, jumped into the shallow waters and with the help of ropes and life saving gadgets, rescued two women and a boy traveling in the car," he added. The car was later recovered from the canal, police said adding that the rescued persons were provided first aid and they are out of danger. "Had it been late, the occupants might have drowned due to deep water level in the canal," police added. |
