Srinagar, May 12: Prominent businessman and former President KCCI, Shiekh Ashiq on Thursday won the elections for the prestigious Carpet Export Promotion Council(CEPC) in the NCR, New Delhi.
It was for the first time in the history of CEPC, that elections were held through E-Voting, while Ashiq was declared winner from the J&K region.
A Mechanical Engineer and MBA, Ashiq, who co-partners the Alkhuddam Group of Companies, has been on the forefront of promotion of handicrafts.
Meanwhile business fraternity has hailed Ashiq for the "landslide victory" and hoped that he would uphold the cause of business community of all the regions of the state.
