JAMMU, May 12: Tawi Trekkers J&K, the premier trekking organization in the state, is organizing two trekking programms this summer, one in Manali-Macleodganj area of Himachal Pradesh and another at Moungri in district Udhampur of J&K. Whereas the Manali- Macleodganj programme, which shall consist of 45 students and two teachers in each group, shall be of five days and five nights duration, the adventure programme at Moungri shall last for only three days for each group of 40 students and two teachers. During the Manali- Macleodganj trek, scheduled to be organized from May 22, the trekkers during their three days stay at Manali shall trek to the enchanting Jogni waterfall, the Manali View point besides a visit to hot water springs at Vashisht, the famous Hadimba temple and Mountaineering Museum in Atal Behari Vajpai Mountaineering Institute, Manali. However, the highlight of this programme shall be a thrilling experience of rafting in the Beas river. The trekkers shall also have the wonderful experience of their stay in luxury tents with sleeping bags. In the second phase of this trek the participants shall have a night stay at Chamunda Devi wherefrom they shall visit Macleodganj, the Seat of His Holiness Dalai Lama, Bhagshunag, Waterfall, Tapovan besides the beautiful Dharamshala stadium. The participation fee which includes transportation, boarding, lodging, Rafting, museum tickets and supervision for the five days and five nights venture has been fixed at Rs 4800. The other Himalayan Trekking Programme being organised at Moungri (Udhampur) shall start from May 31 and continue till June 17. During the three days programme training in Rock Climbing, Rapelling, Jumaring artificial river crossing is imparted to the participants besides trekking in the nearby hills. |
