RSS calls for strengthening harmony among all sections of society | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: To counter Congress’s campaign to create division among different castes in the name of caste census ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday called upon RSS workers to work for strengthening harmony among different sections of the society.
He exhorted the RSS workers to work for the protection of the environment, cementing social harmony and strengthening the traditional family system of the country.
During the second day of his three-day visit to Jammu, Dr Mohan Bhagwat addressed the coordination committee of the various organizations of the Sangh Parivar.
105 representatives of 38 organizations of the Sangh Parivar attended the meeting in which various social issues were discussed.
The RSS chief emphasized the need for further spreading organizational networks so as to reach out to every home with the message of the RSS. He especially focussed on spreading the organization’s network ahead of the centenary celebrations (100th year) of the foundation of RSS.

New Delhi, Oct 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said ferry service between India and Sri Lanka will enhance connectivity, promote trade and reinforce the longstanding bonds between the two countries.
In his message delivered virtually during the flag-off event of the ferry service from India’s Nagapattinam to Sri Lanka, he said that during the recent visit of Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, they jointly adopted a vision document for the economic partnership between the two countries.

Srinagar, Oct 14: Kashmir received moderate rain on the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday, with the Meteorological Department forecasting widespread light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and snow in the next 24 hours.
MeT said there is no large change in the weather until October 17.
Srinagar city has recorded 2.2 mm of rain since Friday night, the Meteorological Department said.
Qazigund in south Kashmir received 0.6 mm of rainfall, while north Kashmir's Kupwara town received 2.1 mm of rainfall.

Jammu, Oct 14: Security forces Saturday recovered a bag containing a pistol and some ammunition during a search and cordon operation in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. The operation was jointly carried out by police and the amy in Dhargloon area in the Mendhar sector following specific input, the officials said. They said a bag was spotted lying near a natural cave and its search led to the recovery of a 9-mm pistol with a magazine and nine bullets, 159 bullets of AK assault rifle, one pouch, one dress, one black trouser and one waterproof suit.
