Another timber smuggler landed up in police custody today when he was caught red handed by a team of forest department while smuggling 25 slippers of Deodar in Rafiabad area of district Baramulla.
According to reports, a team of Forest Division Langate led by DFO Mir Mushtaq laid a special naka at Hyderpora in the outskirts of Rafiabad, late last night. The police are focusing on the make of the bottles which had been kept inside suitcases used to plant bombs in the Samjhuta Express. These bottles carrying either petrol or kerosene had been packed along with the bombs to ignite a fire after the blasts.

At least two calls claiming bombs being planted on a Western Railway commuter train and the Ratnagiri Express sent security agencies into a tizzy, but they turned out to be hoax, railway police said on Friday.
"There were at least two calls regarding bombs being placed in a suburban Virar-bound train on Thursday night as well as the Ratnagiri Express early Friday morning. However, after checking both, they were found to be hoaxes," a railway police official said.

The unidentified bodies of those killed in the deadly Samjhauta Express blasts will be buried here on Saturday as authorities said they cannot preserve the corpses any longer.
The local administration on Friday got clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs for mass burial of the bodies and it will take place in Mehrana village, about five km from here, on Saturday afternoon.
So far, 38 of the 68 people killed in the blasts have been identified.
Another batch of relatives of the Pakistani victims is expected to reach here on Friday evening or by Saturday morning and the authorities have decided to give them time till 12 pm on Saturday for identifying the bodies.

India has failed to provide a list of mainly Pakistani passengers who died in the bomb attack on the Samjhauta Express five days ago, Pakistan's Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid told the parliament in Islamabad on Friday.
Addressing the National Assembly lower house, the minister protested the omission by Indian authorities investigating the carnage.
