JAMMU, Apr 6: Union Health Minister and former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has conceded defeat and declared that he would not take part in the state politics. He has said: "He is not interested in J&K politics". He made this statement only the other day at Srinagar and he made this statement when a handful of his supporters urged Ghulam, Nabi Azad to take active interest in the state politics so that JKPCC chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz is shown his rightful place. Earlier also, he had disappointed his supporters when he told media persons in Jammu that he was "no longer interested in J&K politics".

RAIPUR, Apr 6: In the bloodiest attack on security forces, Naxals today trapped and gunned down 75 personnel during a joint "Operation Green Hunt" offensive against the ultras in the thick forests of Mukrana in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, one of the strongholds of the Maoists.
The incident took place between 6 am and 7 am when nearly 100 personnel comprising CRPF and state police were returning after opening a road for the troops to begin an operation against the Naxals.
While 74 of those killed were CRPF personnel, including a deputy and an assistant commandant, one was a head constable of the district police.

JAMMU, April 6: The police today filed a challan in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) at Srinagar against BSF commandant RK Birdi and Constable Lukhwinder Singh in Zahid Farooq case.
The police produced the challan today in absence of the accused under sections 302, 120B, 307 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). The accused have also been charged under section 210 RPC for destroying evidence.
The CJM after receiving the challan and fixed the next date of hearing on April 8. Owing to employee's strike no orders could be issued today. No clerk was present to check the documents presented by the police.
