Jammu, June 16: Nearly six months after they were elected to the highest decision making house through public mandate, the Members of the Legislative Assembly are in a dilemma on fixing up the issues in their constituencies which they envisioned and promised to the people.
Two quarters of financial year –last quarter of previous year and first quarter of current year –have almost passed and there has been no meeting of the District Development Boards where new developmental schemes could be listed, approved and funds earmarked for them. District Development Board is the main institution where funds for actual change on the ground are decided and dispensed.

The University of Jammu has been reassessed and reaccredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) as an ‘A’ grade University for the period 2003 to 2008. London, Jun 16: The Taliban could spread beyond Pakistan's border to India and as far as the Persian Gulf if they were not stopped, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said seeking more foreign aid to combat the terrorists.
"They (Islamic militants) have a global agenda, they have a regional agenda, they are not confined to Pakistan. They could go in to the (Persian) Gulf, they could go in to India, they can go anywhere," Qureshi told the Financial Times.
"There is a collective interest and there has to be a collective realisation that this is not Pakistan's problem (alone). It's a larger problem," he said.

Yekaterinburg, June 16: In the first sign of a thaw since the freeze in ties that followed the Mumbai terror attacks, leaders of India and Pakistan agreed to a meeting between their foreign secretaries before July 15 that will be focused solely on resolving the 'primary issue of terrorism' that has strained their relations.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari held talks for 40 minutes, most of it one-on-one, that mostly focused on India's concerns about terrorism emanating from across the border and Pakistan's response to it.
