Asif Iqbal Naik Jammu, Mar 11: In a devastating fire incident a residential complex was gutted at village Deler, Chatroo in Kishtwar on Monday. Reports said fire broke out in the complex owned by Ghulam Mohammad Rishi and his two sons Mohammad Iqbal and Mohammad Yaseen at around 2.30 AM on Monday morning in which the double storey building was reduced to ashes, besides perishing 55 sheep, six goats, six cows and three horses. As soon as the news of the fire reached Kishtwar, senior officers of administration including ADC Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Tehsildar Chatroo, Mohsin Raza Ahanger, SHO, Farooq Ahmed Khateeb and a team of fire service department rushed to the spot for rescue operation. But they could not save the property as there was no road connectivity at the site of the incident. Later ADC Kishtwar distributed relief including cash assistance of Rs 60000 among the effected families. Meanwhile MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori raised the issue in the Assembly and blamed the Power Development Department for the negligence. He said that despite government claims that they have released Rs 140 crore for maintenance of HT/LT network in his constituency, most of the electric wires are connected with tress threatening the life of people. |
