| Gas dealers ignore directions of CM, CAPD Minister | | Consumers continue to queue up outside dealerships | | ET Plus Report Jammu, Mar 11: Blatantly ignoring the directions of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Minister or CAPD Ch. Ramzan that the LPG refills should be delivered at the doorsteps of the consumers, Gas dealerships have continued with their arrogant ways, meting a raw deal to the consumers. Gas agency owners are not receiving calls from consumers and people have to reach to their offices to get their refills. During his reply on Governor's address in Legislative council, the chief minister had said that consumers will get gas cylinders at their door steps for which they will have to book a call with the gas agency. "People may have to wait for two to three days to get the cylinder after booking the call but they will get cylinder at doorstep," CM had said. The CA&PD department had also directed the gas agencies to provide gas cylinders to people at home but the order is not being implemented. "I tried to call our gas provider but no body replied to my call and later I reached their office to get the cylinder," said Vinayak Puri, a resident of Roop Nagar. Puri has the gas cylinder connection of Indane and had to reach Janipur to get the cylinder. There are scores like Puri who are not receiving cylinders at their doorsteps and government machinery is sleeping. The CA&PD department is taking no strong action against the gas dealers and have let loose rein of terror on them and people are suffering due to this attitude. Despite the fact that chief minister had assured in the LC that cylinders will be delivered at doorsteps, authorities have failed to stand by the commitments of Omar Abdullah. The CA&PD department has failed to address the needs and demands of people and gas dealers are still in no mood to follow the rules. Sources in the CA&PD department said that these gas dealers are selling cylinders on exorbitant rates through their goons and if they follow the rules they will not be able to earn extra money."The authorities first need to tighten the noose around these dealers so that common man doesn't suffer at the hands of gas dealers,"sources added. But on ground authorities have failed to put in place such management which will control these things and tighten noose around gas dealers
