SAC challenges writ court judgment on suo-moto power

Jammu, Mar 11(JNF): The letters patent appeal (LPA) filed by J&K State Accountability Commission against the judgment of writ court that Commission doesn't have the powers to take suo-moto cognizance in any complaint, grievance or allegations and Regulation 9 framed by the Commission has been declared as ultra-virus, seeking setting-aside the judgment.
The LPA was listed before the Division Bench (DB) comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice DS Thakur. The DB directed the Registry to list this LPA before any other bench in which Justice DS Thakur is not a member and adjourned the matter.
