Jammu, Mar 11: A `Flag Sticker' and `Scouts Scarf' Presentation ceremony of the Bharat Scoutsand Guides was held today, to present Flag Stickers' and Scouts' Scarf to Major General Ashwani Kumar, the General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division. According to press release, the ceremony was attended by the officials of the BharatScouts and Guides including ID Soni, MM Joshi, R K Kotwal and Dr Gurcharan Singh Ghai. Approx ten boys scouts and girl guides drawn from the various schools of Jammu, was also present during the ceremony. ID Soni and MM Joshi also briefed the GOC and officers about the origins of the Scoutsand Guides Movement, as also about the Indian Chapter viz the `Bharat Scouts& Guides' its aims and objectives as also the various activities of the organisation. They highlighted the importance of all round development of the children through holistic education, viz: Formal, Informal and Non-formal education. Non-formal Education is the need of the hour, so that children imbibe the moral value system, which is not being paid adequate attention, in present day times. They also highlighted the three essential qualities of scouts and guides, namely: Courtesy, Loyalty and Sincerity. The Scouts and Guides make it a point to do at least one good act every day, and remember God every day without fail, and seek his blessings. The GOC also stated that the armed forces offered a wonderful avenue for employment for young men and women that was highly respectable and held in high esteem by countrymen. |
