Jammu, Mar 19 : Continuing its drive against the drug addiction, the Rural Wing of Jammu police on late Monday evening caught a drug peddler and recovered about 2200 of intoxicating capsules from his possession.
Acting swiftly on specific information about a drug peddler moving in Jourian area of Akhnoor belt, a team was constituted by SP, Rural, Rajesh Sharma, which laid a naka in area under the jurisdiction of Police Post, Jourian. The police team under the supervision of SDPO, Akhnoor, Mohammad Rayees Bhat and headed by ASI Hazara Singh intercepted a person a frisked him.
During frisking, a packet containing about 2200 intoxicating capsules was recovered from his possession. The person identified as one Rajesh Kumar alias Radhey son of Kako Ram and resident of Badwal in Khour belt was immediately arrested by the police.
Police have registered a case in this regard and the questioning of the accused person is on to ascertain from where he purchased intoxicating capsules and also to whom it were to be delivered. |
