ET Plus Report JAMMU, Mar 19: After locking horns for at least two days, Lawyers' community and Jammu and Kashmir Police finally reached to an amicable solution of withdrawing charges against each other. After two hour long meeting with senior police officers including the injured sub-inspector, the differences between both the parties were sorted out and Bar Association, Jammu announced to resume normal working in the courts, tomorrow. While both the sides in cluding Lawyers and concerned police officers ignored a direct reply over a query whether the case registered against an advocate and some of his other colleagues will be closed by the police itself or the same will be present before the court of law as not proved. Meanwhile, the normal work in High Court, District Court and subordinate courts remained suspended for the second consecutive day today before the differences were settled down. The General Secretary of Bar Association, Jammu, Ranjit Singh had stated "the issue has been solved amicably as there was two hour long meeting between lawyers and senior police officers. Both the sides agreed upon amicably and now the differences have been sorted out. The lawyers will resume their work, tomorrow morning." |
