| Ration meant for Aaam Aaadmi seized, one held | | | ET Plus Report Jammu, Mar 19 : While Treasury Benches in Legislative Assembly as well as in Legislative Council are always in defensive mood, whenever the opposition members accuse them of certain ill-governance, Jammu Police today confirmed that the allegations leveled by opposition are not just haywire. As usual, police officers concerned are tight lipped over an incident that occurred today afternoon, highly placed sources revealed to Early Times Plus that "all is not well in the functioning of government." Police sources revealed that "after getting specific information about that smuggling of goods that comes under Essential Commodities Act, a police party of Jammu police laid a Naka somewhere in Jewel Chowk area and intercepted a vehicle. During checking, police recovered 35 quintal of ration supply meant for people under government ration policy." Police after completing its investigationg immediately arrested the driver of the vehicle who has been identified as one Sanjeev Kumar and resident Bohri area of Talab Tillo. The vehicle bearing registration number JK02AM-8897 has also beein seized by the concerned police. Reliable sources in police department revealed that "the investigating police team, during the preliminary questioning of Sanjeev Kumar indicated that the accused driver had picked up the ration supply from a person, who owes a ration depot in Pounichack area and was on its way to deliver the same in Channi Himmat. Police have registered a case and initiated the investigation to unfold the truth. |
