| Rana seeks BJP’s apology over Jugal's behavior | | | JAMMU, Mar 19: Condemning the unbecoming behaviour of State BJP President and MLA Jugal Kishore with Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana has sought an unconditional apology from the BJP high command as well as made a demand for his (Jugal Kishore’s) removal from the position he holds in the state unit forthwith. Interacting with media persons here this afternoon, Rana described the incident as most unfortunate, saying the attempted assault on a lady politician speaks of scant regard BJP has for womanhood. He also sought apologies from the BJP President Rajnath Singh, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Ms Sushma Swaraj and the senior leader Smiriti Irani, who have been vociferously espousing the cause of women across the country over the issue. For her chequered political career and contribution to the society particularly towards women folk of the state, Ms Itoo enjoys great respect and regard from all sections of the people, he added. Further expressing his solidarity with Ms Itoo Rana said that National Conference will not take such an attempt of assault casually and added the woman wing of his party has already chalked out a protest plan.
