| Jeet Lal tours city, reviews SMC works | | | ET PLUS REPORT
Srinagar, Mar 19: Today Commissioner Secretary to Government Housing and Urban Development Department Jeet Lal Gupta took a tour of Srinagar city in order to see the preparedness of upcoming tourist season and traffic regulation in the city. Jeet Lal Gupta who was accompanied by Commissioner SMC Dr Qasba also reviewed the SMC works and visited the areas mostly frequented by tourists.
While touring to different areas of the city, Jeet Lal hailed SMC for maintaining sanitation up to mark and putting its efforts to make Srinagar cleaner and more sanitized with the introduction of modern compactor machines and by adopting various methods and techniques for the improvisation of sanitation.
He was informed by Commissioner SMC that one hundred and eighty smart bin were added to the sanitation field for the last couple of months and by the end of the year 2013 all the open garbage dumps/sheds shall be replaced with twin color coded smart bins so that no open garbage is seen anywhere in the city. During his tour Jeet lal also visited Magarmal bagh where the complaint has been lodged for the construction of commercial complex in violation of master plan norms. But it was found that no such commercial construction had come up in the area but the Competent Authority BOCA has issued the permission for the construction of hostel. He was accompanied by Joint Commissioner (adm) Fayaz Ahmed Balla, Joint Commissioner Planning Shiekh Mushtaq Ahmed, Chief Enforcement Officer Hakeem Aijaz, Chief Sanitation Officer Manzoor Ahmed Turray and J&K Housing board.
