Anantnag, Mar 19: Much delayed investigation into the infamous heath scam in South Kashmir's Anantnag district today forced Safi karamcharis of the department to held forceful protest demonstrations against the department as they they have not been paid for over five months.
Hundreds of safaikaramcharis here in Anantnag from different blocks of the district today held protests demonstrations against the department for not releasing their wages from last over five months and raised slogans against the department and alleged that the corrupt officials of the department are delaying the investigation process started in 2012.
Scam of illegal appointments in the department surfaced during last summer and then the department due the pressure built on them by media and social groups forced them to start investigation, however after several months the department has evidently failed to complete the investigation due to which safaikaramcharis of the department are working without salaries and facing difficult days, as the department directed all Chief Medical officers and Block Medical officers to stop the salary of fake appointees .
"We were appointed in nineties by the department but still we submitted papers on the directions of the department and now we are unable to understand on what basis they have stopped our salaries from past six months " Mohd Amin Sheikh said.
Director Health Service Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman rejected and avoided repeated calls and hence could not be contacted for a comment. |
