Shiv Jammu, Mar 19: Former MLA and Congress leader, Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, today visited various villages of Nagrota constituency and took stock of the problems of the people.
According to press release, he visited villages Pounthal, Soutra, Pathwar, Kathar, Khalati lower and Khalati upper and interacted with the inhabitants of the area. Accompanied by Sarpanchs Balbir Singh and Mohan Singh, Chairman Charan Dass, Block President Ram Rattan Sharma and Vice President Romal Singh, he assured the resident to meet their demands.
The locals apprised him that they are facing road connectivity problem and shortage of teachers in schools. The inhabitants of Pounthal said that their station falls in the center of rail link Jammu-Udhampur and demanded that a rail stop should be at Pounthal, so that the people of the area will be benefited.
