Jammu, Sept 14: Today Career Abacus, a leading Abacus Teaching Institute organized Prize distribution Ceremony of the Painting Competition at Luthra Higher Secondary school, Kachi Chawni, Jammu. Anuradha Luthra, Principal of the School and Rajeev Luthra, Director Luthra Hr. Sec. Talab Tillo were the Chief Guest. Sohiela Sharma, a student of the Institute welcomed the chief Guest and other guests. The function started with lightening of the Ceremonial lamp by the chief guests and Director Career Abacus, Arvind Sharma. The main attraction of the function was that whole of the function was conducted by the children of the Institute. Prizes were distributed among the winners of various categories. In between the function a demo of little kids was conducted by Divya which left the audience spell bound with the speed and accuracy of the kids. The parents were highly appreciative of the quality of education being imparted by the Institute.
The students who participated in the demonstration are Pragun Sharma, Aragya Gupta, Dhruvi, Bharat Washal, Kritika, Medha, Akshaj, Sauhaard, Khushi and Sohiela.
Arvind Sharma, Director of the Institute explained the purpose of this painting Competition being held in all the schools of J&K with out any participation fee. He also explained the benefits of abacus to the audience and stressed upon the need to teach this skill to all the students in the age group of 5 to 13 years. He said that abacus not only helps in improving the arithmatical skills but it improves the memory, listening skills, imagination, creativity, self reliance and above all self confidence of the students.
For smooth conduct of the function Monika Suri ( Branch Head), Anjali Handoo (Coordinator of School), Shruti, Rajneesh, Sheetal, Akanksha, Kuljeet Kour, Radhika, Rinku and Ajay Kumar were also present. Vote of thanks was presented by Medha Sharma
