Early Times Report

Rajouri, Sept 14: After the Jammu region got rocked by a gang-rape by Police personnel in Reasi, a girl from Mora Daraj, a remote village falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kotranka of Rajouri district, has alleged that she was abducted first kidnapped by a person from his village and later sold to a father of four children in Kashmir who allegedly committed repeated rape upon her.
The victim (name withheld) along with her father Hassan Mohd today came to Rajouri to meet the district SP for action/direction to concerned SHO in this matter, but couldn't meet as SP was out of station.
While talking to some media persons at Rajouri Hassan Mohd alleged that her daughter went missing on April, 23 and after two days search they approached the police at Kotranka but no action was taken by the police. "The girl was recovered from the custody of unidentified person from Kashmir by the father at his own just two days ago after an information from a villager who happened to visit Kashmir for labor work and saw the girl of his village there, victims father narrating his story alleged. "As we have no faith in local (Kotranka) Police and thus we came to seek justice from the SP district" he added. Meanwhile Station House Officer (SHO), Kotranka Haji Bashir countered the claim of victims father saying the father of the girl never brought the matter of her missing daughter in the notice of police at Kotranka. "Had he informed the police action would have taken by us to trace the girl," said SHO further added that when the girl was recovered by the father from Kashmir eh even did not bother inform us. "Police would have taken action if the victim or her father had ever approached the police even today" said SHO. According to victim she was on way to high grass lands on April, 23 alongwith his father and other villagers. She felt some stomachache when one Tariq Hussain of her village offered her some medicines.
"Immediately after the taking the medicine I lost my conscious and later found myself somewhere in Kashmir in the house of an unidentified person a father of four children. I was perhaps sold to that person by Tariq" said the girl adding, "she was repeatedly raped by her owner till September12 when her father rescued her.
When contacted Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Superintendent head quarters showed his ignorance in this matter.
