Singh seeks amendment in J&K School Education

Srinagar, Sept 14: Secretary School Education Hirdesh Kumar Singh has sought views, ideas, inputs and experiences of the Civil Society particularly from students and teacher community, legal fraternity, academics, educational planners/administrators, RTE activists and media professionals for amendment in J&K School Education Act 2013.
"The said draft seeks to incorporate essential elements of the Central legislation "Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009" in respect of affording children free and compulsory education up to Class 8th, an official spokesperson said.
The official statement said that feedback thus solicited by the School Education Department can be shared with Secretary School Education Department, Room No. 64, Ist Floor, Civil Secretariat, Srinagar-190011, e-mail ID: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Fax: 0194-2450574/2450738- upto October 1. It also added that draft Amendment Act is available on the official website of the School Education Department viz. http://www.jkeducation.gov.in.
