Jammu, Sept 14 : Even after lapse of four months of devastated fire broke out at family of quarter of JAY PEE Associates at Chanderkote, the Management of said company has failed to compensate the fire victims. Tosick Rather, a driver, working at Baglihar project said that at the time fire incidents, the authorities had made promises to compensate the victims. "The fire was broken-out in the family quarters of employees allotted by company on May 3,2013 and costly household items were put inside including LCD, Refrigerator, Furniture and documents were gutted", he said, adding that the a was also registered at Police Station Chadnerkot. "Almost, four months have gone, but the authorities are un-moved to fulfill its promises, we have approached to post to pillar but nothing has been done so far," said, Irshad, a labourer. He demanded that the authorities should take immediate action to rescue them from loss. "Households of nine families where fire was broke-out were gutted, since we are seeking compensation as the authorities had made agreed to reimburse us but the authorities are delaying the same for four months", he said, adding that on behalf of employees he urged upon GM and other officer kindly consider their demands. However, when contacted, General Manager, Colonel (Retired) he refused to comment over the issue. |
