Akhnoor, Sept 4: Terming National Conference-Congress coalition as worst ever corrupt government in the State, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma today sought support of the people in general and youth in particular to throw out the present inept and corrupt system to bring positive change in the life of the commoners. Addressing a function organised by Suman Sharma at Khour and Devender Sharma at Akhnoor, Yash Pal Sharma reminded the gathering that PDP led regime had changed the fundamental of politics and administrative system through its conviction and commitment. He especially mentioned various developmental projects which were initiated in border regions belt during the PDP led regime. "Border regions remained neglected for decades together and it was only during the tenure of PDP led regime that various developmental projects were initiated", he said. Highlighting problems of the unemployed youth, Sharma said that present government had betrayed educated unemployed youth of the State. He reminded that National Conference during 2008 assembly elections had promised to formulate a comprehensive policy to create job avenues for youth but the promise remained only on papers. He threw light on the new employment policy announced by the coalition regime and said that this policy was nothing but a cruel joke with the educated unemployed youth of the State. He observed that the credibility of the present regime has reached at its lowest ebb because this dispensation has lost faith of the common masses due to misdeeds and rampant corruption. "There is total chaos and anarchy because the present regime has failed to bring transparency and accountability in the government", he said and corruption has sneaked from top to bottom in the administration. Charging Omar Abdullah led coalition regime with adopting casual approach towards mounting woes of the common masses, he regretted that people have been struggling hard to get even basic amenities like health, education and roads but the ruling elites were not serious to provide such amenities to the people. Speaking on the occasion, senior PDP leader and former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa said that except promises nothing concerted has been done by this government during the last more than five years", he said and added that performance of this regime appears only on papers because the ruling elites were more particular about issuing press statements and conducting photo sessions to befool the people rather than taking effective steps on grounds. Senior leader Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, Deepinder Kour, Jagjit Sing Jagga, State secretary of PDP Falail Singh, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Vikram Singh, Sukhvinder Singh and others also spoke on the occasion. |
