Jammu, Sept 14 : The Women Power today criticized state administration for harassing women and playing hoax with innocent lives.
According to press release, a emergency meeting of Women Power was held in Jammu, the capital of Jammu Pradesh to discuss the present state of affairs under which women have fallen victim to the police and other protected people in the state.
The meeting was presided over by Anita Thakur, General Secretary of JKNPP, Incharge Women Power.
In a resolution the Women Power condemned the halaucast against the mentally retarded girls in a mentally retarded home for girls in a posh colony like Gandhinagar. The resolution demanded inquiry by the CBI against the Sarkari protected personnel involved in such rackets where the mentally retarded girls have been sexually exploited.
The resolution demanded urgent attention of the Union Home Minister and the Central Government in this regard and demanded an FIR against the culprits including the officials of the so-called Rotary Club which has been protecting the exploiters and providing them shelter instead of protecting the retarded inmates in their retarded homes meant to provide protection and welfare to the mentally retarded children.
The resolution also condemned sexual assault and rape against a girl in Reasi by the functionaries in the police office. The Women Power in its resolution demanded NN Vohra, the Chairperson, Welfare Society to intervene in the matter so that the culprits may be punished the way a Delhi Court had sentenced the four rapists to death. |
