| BJP Poonch unit lambastes RD Ministry over 'misuse' of funds | | |

Poonch, Sept 19: Poonch Unit of BJP Thursday lambasted state Rural Development Ministry over alleged brazen misuse of funds in the construction of model village in poonch which was constructed in 2009 and was inaugurated by Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar. BJP leaders said that government claims of massive development in rural areas under MG-NREGA 'but the scheme has turned out to be the most corrupt institution in governance.'
Addressing a press conference, BJP President of Poonch unit Sunil Gupta said, "A story published in a local newspaper has exposed the irregularities in Rural Development Department. I am asking the government what is going on. The common man is being deprived of the benefits of NREGA scheme. Lot of scandals are coming out in Rural Development Department and government has turned a mute spectator to it."
Gupta alleged in Poonch, the Rural Development Department has broken all records in corruption as whatever works which department claims are best suited in files. He alleged that 80 percent of works under NREGA exists on paper and remaining 20 percent on ground.
The BJP leader also lambasted PWD Minister who visited Poonch and took the meeting. They alleged that the administration tried to keep the minister in dark and organized the meeting during night hours. They alleged that it shows that everybody is hand in glove and the common man is being ignored in developmental activities. |
