Police Bishnah shoot out case; arrests one

Jammu, Sept 19: Police claimed to have solved shoot out case that took place in Bishnah area on Tuesday night with the arrest of one person besides recovering the weapon of offence i.e. the Pistol used by the accused.
As per police reports, Nowabad police arrested a person namely as Harmeet Singh S/o Rajinder Singh R/o Reshamghar from Jewal Chowk.
"During his personal search a country made pistol (Dessi Katta) and 04 rounds .315 bore were recovered from his possession, police said.
Police also said that during his questioning the accused confessed to his involvement in the shooting at Deoli Bishnah on the night of Sept 17, during which one Pankaj Sharma S/o Thoru Ram R/o Deoli employed with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sustained injuries on his right arm.
For inept it may be mentioned that two motor cycle borne youths had fired aiming towards Pankaj Sharma and his friends while they were returning from a temple and fled after the firing incident.
Taking cognizance, a case against FIR No. 124/2013 u/s 307, 34 /RPC, 3/25 Arms Act stands registered at P/S Bishnah in this regard. The accused Harmeet Singh also admitted his involvement in a separate stabbing incident of P/S Bishnah.(Case FIR No. 120/2013 dated 13-09-2013 u/s 341, 323/RPC, 4/25 Arms Act.). On his statement another accused in this case, namely, Pardeep Kumar S/o Dev Raj R/o Chorli Kothey was arrested and the sharp edge weapon used in the above case was recovered.
Hectic efforts are on to trace the second culprits involved in the attack and uncover the conspiracy, if any, behind the incident.
