Akshay Azad JAMMU, Sept 19: Despite strict directions prohibiting cell-phones and other electronic gadgets inside the examination centers established by Service Selection Board (SSB), the pictures of question papers have been uploaded on social website 'Facebook', which has raised a serious question mark over security provision made by SSB, which is again preparing to conduct next exam on September 21. The photos available with Early Times revealed that no strict measures were taken to conduct SSB exam held on September 17 at 603 examination centers across Jammu and Kashmir. Around 2 lakh students had appeared in exam for 1200 posts of various cadres and ranks with 10+2 basic qualification. The SSB authorities have clearly motioned on admit card in bold letters that no phone and other electronic gadgets are allowed in the examination centers but unfortunately the rules were not adhered. The pictures in possession of Early Times shows the question papers as well as answer sheets, which unequivocally points towards the fact that the pictures were clicked inside the examination hall by some applicant. The alleged mismanagement on part of SSB didn't end here and even the applicants who appeared in the exam had to face several other glitches including wrong admit-cards, center names. "When I had entered form number and Date of Birth (DOB) in the official website of SSB to get my admit card, every time I got wrong admit-card, with photographs of some other applicant and parentage", an applicant Shruti Devi rued, adding that even when she had approached Kathua employment office, they asked to approach Jammu SSB Office. "When we approached Jammu they expressed helplessness and asked to speed-post the admit card to Srinagar office, but ultimately got no reply from Srinagar office and was denied entry in the examination center", she lambasted. While castigating the SSB authorities, another candidate rued that on the admit card the exam center was written as Government Higher Secondary School Jammu. "There are around one hundred higher Secondary Schools in Jammu, where I had to go but after hectic efforts I reached the school", he said. "At a Government HSS in city, out of total 375 candidates, 82 were absent due to ambiguous address of exam center given by SSB on admit card", a official seeking anonymity said, adding that same was the condition at many other schools. Another applicant Suresh Singh said that he had applied for the post of Junior Assistant but in the advertisement of SSB, no item code of Junior Assistant has been mentioned but a post of Account Assistant has been mentioned, creating a lot of confusion among applicants. An official pleading anonymity said that SSB has hired a Kolkata based private consultant company to carry out whole exercise, but from the mismanagement, it seemed that the company is not qualified enough to hold such an examination. |
