| Class X student bears teacher’s wrath for refusing to be domestic help | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Sept 19: In a shocking incident of corporal punishment in remote Bhagla village of Doda District, a teacher allegedly beat a 10th class student ruthlessly for refusing to be a domestic servant. According to the victim Fareed Ahmed, son of Meer Hussain, student of 10th class at Government High School Baghla, local teacher Abdul Latief also resident of Baghla beat him mercilessly with a desk rod as a result of which he had developed a fracture in his right ankle. He said that the accused teacher called him outside his class and started beating him with the help of another teacher Bilal Ahmed Zarger. He said that both the teachers beat him for no fault. He said that the said teachers were targeting him for last few days and torturing him physically and mentally. He said that today, the said teachers crossed all limits and beat him mercilessly. They did not allow anyone to come to his rescue. Meanwhile Meer Hussain father of the victim said that the accused teacher wanted his son as a domestic help which he had refused. He said that since then the said teacher used to target his son. He said that after seeing the condition of his son, he shifted him to hospital in Doda where doctors detected a fracture in his right ankle. He demanded an action against the accused teachers. Chief Education Officer Doda Mohammad Ashraf Rathar did not respond to the repeated calls for his reaction to the allegations against the teachers. |
