Rajouri , Sept 19: Assistant Controller of Drugs (ACD) , RK Koul has said that 'glucose' samples which were lifted from district hospital Rajouri after the allegations of alleged death of a youth in district hospital due to reaction , have been declared of standard quality by the officials of combined drug and food laboratory, Jammu. While interacting with some media persons at Rajouri, RK Koul said that before lifting the supply of the glucose from provincial medical store at Jammu the samples were already tested and analyzed. "But after complaint by the medical superintend district hospital, Dr Arun Sharma that reactions were being observed in some more patients after injecting these fluids some samples were again lifted from the district hospital on July 28 after the death of a youth and were sent to laboratory for retesting and analysis" said RK Koul. After the complaint of reaction which resulted in the death of one Waseem Khan alias Sonu resident of Thanamandi, as claimed by the family members, hospital superintendent had banned the supply of glucose, medicates, drip sets etc on July 28 to the patients admitted in the district hospital till these were declared safe by the Controller of Drugs.On July 28 Wasim with a pain in the stomach was admitted in the hospital and after medical checkup by a doctor he was advised to administrate glucose. RK Koul,assistant Controller of drug had said that dextrose5% (batch no.33292); dextrose injections normal saline (batch No.332i7); compound sodium L/R (batch No.33208, which was given to Wasim were already tested/analyzed in the combined drug and food laboratory and were lifted from provincial medical stores at Jammu. |
