Srinagar, Sept19: World renowned cardiologist, Dr U Koul has decided to return to his homeland, Kashmir and serve the people here. Koul, considered to be an authority on heart ailments, originally hails from a small village of Shopian district and after completing his medicine course went to New Delhi for further studies. He was first employed at AIMS where he served for a long before moving out and holding his practice at different hospitals and nursing homes, specializing in treating heart ailments. Koul has been regularly visiting Srinagar to examine and treat heart patients here, mostly coming from poor background and far off places across Kashmir. An ardent user of Facebook, Dr U Koul disclosed on the social networking site that he had 'finally decided to return to Kashmir and settle down here. "You would be glad to know that I am always there and finally have decided to be there 24x7", Koul said in reply to one of his followers who had suggested him to serve people of Kashmir more. "I have made all the preparations (for returning to Kashmir). The construction of my house in Srinagar is in final stage and as soon it is complete, I shall be settling down there" Dr. Koul was quoted as having said. "I have spent a long, long time outside Kashmir and time has now come that I should return to my motherland and serve my people there", Dr Koul added. Dr Koul's return is bound to be welcomed by cross section of Kashmir society especially hundreds of patients from the valley, who otherwise had to spend both time and money in going to Delhi for an appointment with him. |
