| Five person killed in Machil road accident | | |

Kupwara, Sept 19, : At least five persons were killed and three others were injured when the driver lost control over his Sumo vehicle and skidded off the road at Z-Morh on Machil-Kupwara Highway on Thursday.
Terming the incident very unfortunate, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Itrat Hussain that the dead bodies were handed over to their respective families while one amoung the three injured person was shifted to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura.
Police sources said that a Sumo (JK09-1192) coming from Machil to Kupwara met with an accident when the driver Abdul Rashid Cheche son of Mir Alam resident of Sarkul Kalaroos lost control over his vehicle and skidded off the road. The Sumo fell into a gorge injuring all the 8 persons including the driver on board.
Five passengers including the driver succumbed to their injuries while three persons were injured one of them critically. The deceased have been identified as Hashim Jan wife of Mohammad Yaseen Tantry resident of Chottwari, Saleema daughter of Mohammad Yousf Tantry resident of Chottwari, Zameer Ahmad Hadi son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Chottwari, Humunin Sharma resident of Rajasthan and Abdul Rashid Cheche son of Mir Alam resident of Sarkul Kalaroos.
The deceased Humunin Sharma resident of Rajasthan was running a canteen in 45 RR camp.
Three persons were injured in the mishap were identified as Mohammad Altaf, Mohammad Jehangir and Shabir Ahmed. Police has registered a case in this regard. |
