| JKDF Mahila Wing activists demand arrest of attacker | | |

Jammu, Sept 19: A deputation of women led by State President, JKDF Mahila Wing Veenu Khanna Thursday called on SSP and apprised him about the police failure to arrest real culprits behind the attack on a scholar of Sanskrit Department in University Campus.
The deputation demanded immediate arrest of miscreants and absconders from Progressive Student Alliance, 'a banned group in Jammu University which have severely assaulted a scholar and State Secretary JKDF Youth Wing Kapil Shastri in an attack few days ago.'
While making the representation Khanna expressed dissatisfaction over the police action in this regard, 'especially in case of one of the accused namely Sakshi Raina who was earlier arrested inside university campus on charges of attack and subsequently released outside the campus same day.'
"Sakshi Raina, Manik Sharma and Talib Hussain have been named by the victim Kapil Shastri in his statement as prime attackers. Manik Sharma and Talib Hussain are still absconding, whereas Sakshi Raina is roaming free as if nothing has happened," Khanna said and demanded immediate arrests of absconding members of PSA.
The SSP Jammu Rajeshwar Singh assured the activists that he will look into the matter and take appropriate action in this regard.
