| Court awards 6-years RI to accused facing trial for last 12 years | | | Et Report Jammu, Sept 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu SR Gandhi today awarded six years rigorous imprisonment to one Rocky Singh of Kullian, Jammu and also awarded one year imprisonment to his father Himmat Singh who were facing trial for the last 12 years. According to the police on 27 August 27 complainant Naresh Kumar lodged a verbal report that he was sitting with Amar Kumar in his house and in the meantime accused persons who had an old enmity with him with the criminal intention trespassed in his room and inflicted a blow with kirchi.On this police registered a case u/s 452/324 RPC and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the court. The Court after hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli with senior PO Rajeshwar Basotra appearing for the state observed that it was proved beyond reasonable doubts that the accused with common intention trespassed in the house of complainant and attacked on him with Kirch and awarded three years RI and fine of Rs 1000 u/s 452 and three years RI and fine Rs 1000 u/s 324 RPC to Rocky Singh and six months RI and fine Rs 500 u/s 452 RPC and six months RI and fine Rs 500 u/s to Himmat Singh. The Court further clarified that both the sentences shall run concurrently. (JNF) |
