| Man held for raping daughter-in-law, sent to police custody | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Sept 19: A man was today arrested for allegedly raping his daughter-in-law on several occasions for the last five years at Chack Desa Singh, a Panchayat near Kathua.
The accused father-in-law identified as Ravi Dass alias "Lattu Baba" was arrested following a complaint lodged by his daughter-in-law alleged that the former raped her and for the last five years.In her complaint, the victim alleged that her father-in-law had been raping her for the last five years adding that he also used to beat her mercilessly.
The victim claimed that she couldn't reveal the continuous sexual abuse of her to anybody as she was threatened by the accused.
She alleged that her mother in-law and her husband were well aware that the accused was raping her but instead of disapproving the sexual abuse, they supported the accused.
The victim in her complaint said, " Whenever I raise the matter of my sexual exploitation and other atrocities by my father-in-law, my husband (Luxman Dass) categorically refused to censure his father for committing this heinous act," adding that she has a male baby from accused Ravi Dass. The victim further said that due to extreme sexual exploitation she was forced to lodge the complaint against her father-in-law at Police Station, Kathua. Police have farmed charges against the accused under Section 376 RPC for committing rape against FIR No 353 and the further investigation was on. |
