| Students aghast over announcement of 12th class exam date sheet | | Demand reschedule of announced date sheet | | Early Times Report
Doda, Sept 19: Students of 12th class hailing from Chenab Valley region of Jammu and Kashmir including Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts are aghast over the announcement of class 12th examination date sheet ( Annual Regular Winter Zone of Jammu Province) which was announced by JKBOSE recently.
Scores of students besides various educational organizations, head of the institutions and teaching faculty of winter zone of Jammu province has opposed the date sheet issued by the J&K Board of School Education for the conduct of Higher Secondary Part II Exam.
One of the student Mushahid Hussain while talking to this reporter said that their session in the schools has not yet completed and also due to recent earthquake in this region, they have not completed their syllabus well in time whereas after knowing this fact, the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) authorities have announced the examination date keeping the students to bask in the sun and also only one day have been given for preparation which simply shows injustice with them.
While Nasir Dev, one of the private school teacher alleged that in Summer Zone Date Sheet, around 4 to 5 days are given for preparation of each paper where as in this 12th class date sheet for students belonging to winter zone of Jammu province, only one day have been given for preparation. He also opposed the conduct of practical before theory, as it kills the interest of the students.
The parents of the students have also opposed that national festival like Eid, Dusherra and Diwali as well as Pooja holidays which are commencing w.e.f 30th October to 5th November have not taken into consideration. They have shown their resentment over this date sheet and demanded for a fresh date sheet to conduct exam after 5th November and practical after theory.
It is worthwhile to mention here that JKBOSE Jammu has announced the class 12th examination date sheet for students of October/November session 2013 (Annual Regular Winter Zone of Jammu Division) dated 17th September. The students have urged the JKBOSE Authorities to reschedule the announced date sheet at an earlier and have demanded that the exams of 10th and12th shall never be conducted in October in future keeping into consideration the interest of the students. |
